Five playing cards dealt face up on a casino table, each with a checked casino's logo: Casumo, 32Red, 7Bet, PlayOJO and Jackpotjoy; four suit chips below and a face-down stack aside

A licensed, properly run casino holds a licence from a gambling regulator, is operated by a company that can be named, gives customers a clear route for complaints and states what happens when a player asks to withdraw. Each casino covered here can be matched to an entry on a regulator's public register, which is the first proof that the licence exists. That match is where the checks start, not where they end, because a licence number says nothing about how complaints or withdrawals are handled.

The deal

Casinos we have checked

Each name leads to its own check page, and the full set is collected on the all casino checks page. The table puts the regulator and licence number first, the register status beside them and the licence holder last. Where a casino holds more than one entry, both are shown.

Every casino is dealt the same four cards: licence, company, complaints and payouts. A face-up card carries the fact from the check page; a face-down card has nothing to show.

Which regulators license these casinos

The Gambling Commission regulates most types of gambling in Great Britain and licenses the individuals and businesses that offer it. Casumo, 7Bet, 32Red, Jackpotjoy, PlayOJO, Sky Vegas, Hot Streak and bet365 carry Commission account numbers, and each of those accounts is listed on the Commission's register of gambling businesses. The Sky Vegas account also covers Sky's bingo, casino, poker and betting-games trading names. Hot Streak's account lists the trading name grace gaming alongside the hotstreakcasino.com address.

Betninja and Wino hold licences from Anjouan Gaming, a separate regulator with its own licence register. That register gives each licence a company, a status, a number, a type, an issue date and an expiry date, together with the web addresses it covers. Betninja's licence is held by BitzEnt Ltd., shows as valid and runs from 22 November 2024 to 21 November 2026. Wino's licence is held by Softon Ltd, shows as valid and runs from 7 September 2024 to 6 September 2027.

What we check on every casino

The four checks run in a fixed order:

  1. Licence and register status. The regulator, the licence number and whether that number or the casino's web address appears on the regulator's register with a status. A badge on a casino page is only a claim until the register shows the same entry.
  2. The company behind it. The legal name that operates the site, with its registration number and registered office where they are given. That company is the party a complaint or claim is aimed at.
  3. Where a complaint goes. The casino's own procedure first, then the independent adjudication provider the casino names.
  4. Payout terms. The pending period, the withdrawal time, the minimum withdrawal and any withdrawal limits.

Our team tests the casinos we cover and checks every fact on this page against their own pages and the regulator's public register. The steps behind each check are set out on How we check a casino. Keeping the order fixed means two casinos can be compared line by line without hunting for the same fact in different places.

Complaints and who handles them

Every gambling business must publish its complaints procedure and give clear terms and conditions, in its premises and online. The table sets each casino's first step next to its independent provider. The route matters most when a withdrawal is delayed or a bonus is disputed, because that is when a player needs to know in advance who decides.

Start with the casino

The Gambling Commission does not resolve or make decisions on complaints about gambling transactions. A disagreement about the result of a bet, or about the service received, goes to the casino first, through the complaints process it publishes. Typical subjects are whether a player has won, how much was paid, how payments were managed, terms and conditions, bonus offers, ID verification, closure of an account, a voided or cancelled bet, IT problems and customer service. Resolver, a free online tool, gives advice to customers and can help submit the complaint to the business.

When an independent body can step in

A complaint can go to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider only after the casino's own procedure has been used. If the result from the casino is unsatisfactory, the complaint can be taken to an ADR provider after 8 weeks. The provider is a free, independent service, and the casino should say which one to use and give its contact details. Many casinos also issue a deadlock letter at the end of a complaint, which confirms that the matter can be referred on.

The provider reviews what the player sends, including any reply from the casino, and decides whether it can adjudicate. If it accepts the complaint it contacts the casino and begins the adjudication. A confirmation of receipt can land in a junk folder, and if it is not there the provider is the first place to ask. Complaints about customer service, or about a refusal to accept a bet or a customer, are not accepted, because a gambling business is free to decide who it takes bets from and on what terms.

If the final adjudication is unwelcome, an appeal may be possible. The provider should say whether it has an appeals procedure and give the grounds, the time limits and what happens at the end. After a final adjudication or appeal, the small claims court is a further option, and independent legal advice is recommended before that decision.

Payout terms side by side

Payout terms decide how long a withdrawal request takes to become money in the player's account. The pending period is the time a request stays pending before the casino processes it, and the withdrawal time is how long the payment then takes. Withdrawal limits are the caps a casino sets per transaction, day, week or month. The minimum withdrawal is the smallest amount a player can ask for in one request.

Verification before a payout

Identity checks can sit in front of a payout, and the withdrawal conditions differ between casinos. Casumo may restrict an account, including blocking withdrawals, until its verification checks are satisfied. Jackpotjoy allows withdrawal at any time provided there are no outstanding verification requests and the balance is above £10. Wino starts its checks with the first withdrawal request, which is normally reviewed within 48 hours, and may delay withdrawals until verification is complete. Betninja may ask for photo ID, address confirmation or further verification before granting any withdrawal.

Fees on withdrawals and idle accounts

Fees can reduce a balance before it is withdrawn. Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals below £10 and nothing above that, Jackpotjoy and Betninja charge no fees for withdrawals, and PlayOJO charges 5 EUR on withdrawals made without prior real money activity. Idle accounts are treated differently: Casumo charges £5 a month once an account is inactive, 32Red may deduct £5 a month after 30 days following its first notification, and bet365 may deduct £2 every 28 days after a minimum of 35 days following its notice. Betninja charges €/$5 per calendar month after 12 consecutive months of inactivity if the account is in credit, whereas Sky Vegas and Hot Streak charge no dormant account fee.

Games and providers across these casinos

The lobbies differ most in who supplies the games and in how much of the catalogue is slots, live dealers, bingo or betting. The table sets out the main studios and game types for each casino. The sections after it cover what the lists share and where they split.

Studios in common

Pragmatic Play appears on the studio list of every casino in the table that has one, from Casumo through to Wino. Play'n GO is on all of those lists apart from Jackpotjoy's, and Evolution is on the lists of Casumo, 7Bet, 32Red, Jackpotjoy and PlayOJO. Playtech appears at Casumo, 7Bet, 32Red, PlayOJO and Sky Vegas, and Relax Gaming at Casumo, 32Red, PlayOJO and Betninja.

The remaining studios separate the groups. Betninja and Wino are the only two to include Spribe, and Jackpotjoy's list carries Roxor Gaming, Hungry Bear and Gaming Realms, which sit on no other list here.

Jackpots

Mega Moolah is the progressive jackpot slot that Casumo, 7Bet and 32Red all feature. Casumo adds Divine Fortune and Hall of Gods, and 32Red adds Jackpot King and King Millions. Sky Vegas also features Jackpot King titles, among them Bankin' More Bacon Jackpot King, Deal or No Deal The Big Hit Megaways Jackpot King and 7s Deluxe Jackpot King. Jackpotjoy's slot progressives grow each time a member wagers until they are won, with no upper limit, and its bingo jackpots pay when a full house is called within a set number of balls.

PlayOJO splits its jackpots into three kinds: progressives such as Snake Arena, fixed jackpots such as 9 Masks of Fire and daily jackpots such as Dragon's Luck. bet365 offers Jackpot365, which is entered from the bet slip.

Live casino tables and game shows

Live dealer play runs through the same suppliers that fill the studio lists. Some Casumo tables range from £5 to £5,000, PlayOJO's table stakes run over the same range, and Sky Vegas live games start from 10p. 7Bet streams from dedicated studios and features Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Mega Ball and Deal or No Deal Live, while Casumo has Dream Catcher and Money Drop. PlayOJO's game shows include Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, Crazy Time and Extra Chilli Epic Spins.

Betninja shows live tables from Pragmatic Play, Ezugi, Iconic21 Live, Winfinity, Animo Studios and 155.io, and Wino shows Winfinity, Iconic21, Vivo Gaming and 7Mojos. 32Red's live gaming takes place in controlled studios that are recorded and monitored.

Exclusive games

Exclusive titles are named at Casumo, 32Red and Sky Vegas. Casumo has Casumo Bonanza. 32Red has I'm A Celebrity, Tipping Point and The Cube. Sky Vegas has Sky Vegas Megaways, a Megaways slot with changing reels, cascading wins and a bonus wheel.

Welcome offers and bonus terms compared

Welcome offers fall into two shapes: free spins attached to a first deposit, and a match bonus that adds money to the deposit. The table gives each offer with the minimum deposit, the wagering requirements and the expiry. bet365's row shows its sports offer.

Spins and matches

Spin offers sit at 7Bet, 32Red, Jackpotjoy, PlayOJO and Sky Vegas, while Casumo, Betninja and Wino pay a match on the deposit. The match offers can be staged: Betninja spreads its package over three deposits, and Wino spreads 600% up to €10,000 over five, with 200% up to €500 on the first, 100% up to €1,500 on the second, 100% up to €3,000 on the third, 50% up to €2,000 on the fourth and 150% up to €3,000 on the fifth. Each Wino stage is claimed separately from the promotions box, so the next bonus is activated only when the player chooses. Jackpotjoy also offers a bingo alternative of 30 free bingo tickets on the same £10 deposit.

Wagering and expiry

The size of the wagering requirements is where the offers differ most. Casumo and 32Red set 10x, Wino 25x per stage and Betninja at least 40x, so the same stake has to be turned over four times as often at Betninja as at Casumo. 7Bet attaches only 1x to its spin winnings, and Jackpotjoy, PlayOJO and Sky Vegas attach none to theirs. Expiry is shortest at PlayOJO, whose spins last 24 hours, and longest at Jackpotjoy, which allows 30 days to meet the requirements and a further 30 days to play the spins. Betninja gives 30 days for bonus money, and 7 days is the figure that recurs at Casumo, 7Bet, Sky Vegas and for Betninja's spins.

Limits while a bonus is active

A maximum bet applies while a bonus is being played through. Casumo sets £5 per spin or £0.50 per bet line until the wagering is met, 7Bet £1.00, Betninja 5€/$ and Wino €2. Caps on what can be taken out also differ: 7Bet limits cash-out from bonus winnings to £100, and Wino caps winnings at 25x the bonus amount. Jackpotjoy free spins carry no maximum win, and PlayOJO winnings have no limit.

Not every game counts equally. 7Bet allows wagering only on selected non-jackpot slots, and Wino excludes sports bets, table games, live casino games and video poker from its wagering. Betninja counts slots at 100%, jackpots at 0%, live roulette and live blackjack at 10%, other live games at 10% and table games at 5%. Jackpotjoy does not count wagering on sports, bingo or live casino towards its casino welcome offer. 32Red excludes deposits made with credit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, Paysafe cards, Skrill and Neteller from its welcome offer.

Payment methods compared

Card payments are common to almost every casino here, and the differences lie in the e-wallets, the bank options and the minimum deposit. The table gives each casino's methods and minimum deposit.

Methods in common

Visa and Mastercard are accepted at Casumo, 7Bet, 32Red, Jackpotjoy, PlayOJO, Sky Vegas, Betninja and Wino, and bet365 accepts debit cards. Apple Pay is on the lists of seven of those casinos, the exception being Betninja. PayPal, Skrill and Trustly are shared by Casumo, 7Bet, 32Red and PlayOJO, and those four also take Paysafecard. Instant bank options appear under different labels: Instant Bank Transfer at Jackpotjoy and Wino, Citadel Instant Banking and DirectEBanking at PlayOJO, and Trustly elsewhere.

Wino lists cryptocurrency, with BTC, ETH, LTC and USDT on its payment list. Sky Vegas lists online payment services without naming individual providers.

Fees on deposits and currencies

32Red, Sky Vegas, Jackpotjoy and Betninja charge nothing for a deposit, although a bank may charge on 32Red deposits it treats as cash transactions. PlayOJO is different: Paysafecard and Skrill deposits carry a 5% fee.

The currency in which the account runs shapes the minimum deposit figures above. Casumo accepts British pounds only, Sky Vegas accepts pounds sterling and euros, Betninja takes EUR and USD, and Wino accounts run primarily in EUR. PlayOJO offers a longer list of currencies, with GBP and EUR among them.

Reading a licence number

The Gambling Commission publishes registers of licensed gambling businesses, licensed individuals and premises that can be searched and downloaded, along with details of regulatory actions and public statements issued after enforcement action. A casino check uses the register of gambling businesses. An entry there shows a licence account number, the name on the licence account, the web addresses linked to it and any trading names, with a status beside each, such as Active, Inactive or White Label.

Either end can start the search: the number the casino gives, or its web address. The two should lead to the same licensee name. PlayOJO's entry, for example, ties the playojo trading name to the Skill On Net Limited account with an Active status. The licence holder named on the register is then compared with the company behind the casino.

An entry shows that a licence account exists and what status the Commission gives it. Action taken against licensees is published in the regulatory actions and public statements lists, so a status word on one entry does not stand for the whole record. The web addresses of Casumo, 32Red and Sky Vegas also appear under earlier licence accounts marked Inactive: 39265 for Casumo Services Limited, 39430 for 32Red Limited and 38718 for Bonne Terre Limited. In each case the Inactive status belongs to the older account, not to the account shown in the table.

Safer gambling

Self-exclusion is a formal agreement not to gamble, made by people who have recognised that gambling is harming them. Once it is in place the casino must close the account, return any money in it and remove the player's details from its marketing databases. Keeping to the agreement is the player's responsibility, but the casino must take reasonable steps to stop play during the period. GAMSTOP allows a player to self-exclude from online operators with one request, and casinos must also run their own arrangements, so excluding from a single business is possible as well. A licence held abroad is never a way around a self-exclusion.

A player who gambles during a self-exclusion should tell the casino, which helps it close gaps in its procedures. Software that blocks access to gambling websites is a further layer, and the Commission points to GamCare for information on it. Free help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 0808 8020 133 in England and Scotland and 0808 2819 265 in Wales, or through GambleAware. More general guidance is on Responsible gambling for UK players. The tools for each casino follow.

Casumo

Casumo offers limits on wagering, loss, deposits and maximum session time, along with a reality check tool, time-outs and self-exclusion. A self-exclusion request there is valid for the Casumo website only and does not carry over to other sites the operator runs. Help links cover GambleAware, GamCare, GAMSTOP and Gambling Therapy.

7Bet

Session limits, deposit limits, time-outs and reality checks can be set in the account settings at any time. A self-exclusion request asks for a choice of scope: the 7Bet website only, or every brand under the Anakatech Interactive Limited licence. Help organisations shown include GamCare, BeGambleAware, Gambling Therapy, Gordon House Therapy Services and the National Problem Gambling Clinic.

32Red

32Red provides a reality check, a deposit limit, a net deposit limit, a product block, a time out and self-exclusion, including self-exclusion with GAMSTOP. Help links cover GamCare, Gambling Therapy, GAMSTOP, BeGambleAware and Gamblers Anonymous, among others. Together these give a player both account-level controls and routes to outside support.

PlayOJO

PlayOJO offers deposit limits, time alerts, cooling-off periods and playtime reminders. A player who self-excludes chooses whether the exclusion covers only the account used or all accounts, current and future, on the same licence. Support runs 24/7 and treats safer gambling queries as a priority, and the pages point to the National Gambling Helpline, GamCare and GambleAware.

Sky Vegas

Sky Vegas provides deposit limits, session time reminders, cooling-off periods, reality checks, time-outs, self-exclusion and a profit and loss view. A self-exclusion across all Sky Betting and Gaming products is copied to any matching account held with Betfair and Paddy Power. Help links include GamCare, Gordon Moody, BigDeal, BetBlocker and Gamban.

Betninja

Betninja offers a deposit limit for a chosen period and encourages players to seek support from Gambling Therapy or Gamblers Anonymous. Every new account must be registered by someone aged 18 or older.

Wino

Wino's platform includes self-exclusion tools, deposit limits and account activity summaries. Links to GamCare, BeGambleAware, GAMSTOP and Gamblers Anonymous appear on its about page. Players must be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority where they live.

Hot Streak

Hot Streak provides self-assessment, self-exclusion, reality checks, a take a break option, financial limits and an online account history, with GAMSTOP shown among its support options. A self-exclusion there applies across all websites in its network. Links go to BeGambleAware, GamCare and GAMSTOP.

bet365

bet365 offers a budget calculator, deposit limits, reality checks, an activity tracker, a time-out, self-exclusion and gambling blocks. Self-exclusion can be direct or through a multi-operator scheme such as GAMSTOP. Players must be 18 or over.

Questions

What does "legit" mean for a casino?

It means the casino holds a regulator's licence that matches an entry on the public register, and that a named company stands behind the brand. The complaints route and payout terms then show how it deals with customers.

How do I check a casino on the Gambling Commission register?

Take the account number or web address the casino gives and look for it in the Commission's list of gambling businesses. The licensee name and status on that entry should agree with what the casino says.

Where can I complain about a casino?

Start with the casino itself, through its published complaints process. If you are not satisfied after 8 weeks, a free ADR provider can look at the complaint, and the casino should tell you which one.

Does a legit check say whether a casino is worth playing?

No. It covers licence, company, complaints route and payout terms only. Games, bonuses and whether the casino suits you are separate questions.

What do Active and Inactive mean on the register?

They are the status the Commission shows beside an account's web addresses and trading names. Read each one against its own account, since a brand can have an older Inactive account next to a current Active one.

Who decides a complaint when the casino and the player disagree?

The Commission does not rule on complaints about gambling transactions. Once the casino's own process has run its course, a free independent ADR provider can adjudicate, and the small claims court is a further route after that.

Which of these casinos name an independent complaints body?

Casumo, 32Red, Jackpotjoy, PlayOJO and Hot Streak use eCOGRA, while Sky Vegas and bet365 use the Independent Betting Adjudication Service.

If you think we are wrong

A casino can change a term, and a fact on this page can be wrong. Our team goes back to the casino's own page or the register, corrects what it finds and moves the Last updated date. How we check is set out on How we check a casino, and the way to reach the team is on the About page.
